For the second time, Auto Plus Towing & Auto Body partnered with the OK Program of Oakland to award the most qualified OK Program participant with a vehicle upon graduation.
“I hope I leave behind a legacy of kindness and forgiveness that lives on in my family and children that I mentor.”
The OK program partnered with Auto Plus Towing to deliver the 2015 Mazda to Denzel. "We put tires, serviced it, painted it, cleaned it. Whatever it needed," said Auto Plus Towing Owner Donnie Robinson.
Both groups hope this car will be a way to pay it forward and help the young man who's off to college next fall with a wrestling scholarship.
The program teaches the boys tools they need to become successful men and it builds relationships some thought they'd never experience.
Researchers have found after 18 months with a mentor, children were 65 percent more likely to obtain a higher level of education than they thought was possible. Davis said over the years 18 OK Program boys have gone on to graduate from local colleges.
